Clayton was sent to the war front as an Army Chaplain to attend the needs of soldiers under battle conditions. The house he was given to live there was converted into a "Soldier's Club'. Rev. P.B. Clayton believed that "all are equal under God" so that he renamed the club as "Everyman's Club" to allow everyone to avail the services from him and his friends. During the War, London Bishop's son Gilbert Talbot was killed. The club was again renamed in his memory as 'Talbot House'. Thus Toc H stands for Talbot House which is a memorial for Gilbert Talbot. This building is permanently retained in its original form and a caretaker is looking after it. The name Toc H is a short name used by army due to security reasons Rev.
